As I’ve mentioned before, tomorrow the 15th at 1pm EST I’ll be harassing interviewing my critique partner Melissa Marr about her upcoming release, RADIANT SHADOWS, but what I didn’t know until yesterday was that I’ll also be doing another podcast tonight.
Morgan and Lisa from publicity at Romantic Times kindly asked me if I would guest on author Linda Mooney’s OTHER WORLD OF ROMANCE show on Blog Talk Rado, and of course I said yes. Then I found out part of the show’s format would be me doing a reading for 15 minutes before talking about my book and/or taking questions from anyone who tunes into the show. *goggles* This will be the first reading I’ve ever done. Yes, I’ve managed to avoid doing public readings for five releases now because of stage fright, but the gig is up! Lol. So if you’re up late on the east coast tonight, or just finishing up with dinner out west, tune in to get a good laugh knowing I’m squirming and sweating as I read from FIRST DROP OF CRIMSON. Haven’t decided which section to pick yet. Those of you who’ve read the book, got any suggestions? No, I can’t just read from a sex scene – even though that would result in the most embarrassment from me, and thus be more fun for readers listening in 🙂 – and I could just start at chapter one, but I’m open to ideas, so lay them on me!

I would have to say when Bones shows up at Spade’s house. Every now and then I pick up the book to read that specific part because I laugh every time

mmmmm, the shower scene??? I KNOW you said not just the sex scene, but that is one great piece of literary work right there. heehee. No? well, then, I agree with MEG, the part where Bones shows up at the house is priceless! go for it Jeaniene…you’ll be great! and i’ll be listening!
I agree..I freakin love the shower scene..but if not that one..then absolutely the scene with Bones…It is great..I laugh everytime..and I just love both those lucious men..cant get enough!
Unfortunatly I might still be out; but I’ll try my darndest. I think it should be an early chapter. One where Denise has a PTS attack a think, like at Spades clan meetting.
yeah, I think the meeting or when bones shows up would be great… but you could always go for steamy scenes… you know? ^^ we’d love to hear about that! maybe after spade walked out on denise and then meets her again when she’s looking for him… denise telling spade about her drinking his blood… until ian knocks on the door, saying one of my favorite lines =)

I have to say either the Park when Spade first drinks Denise’s blood, or when Bones shows up. It is a toss up for me. I am sure wont wants to hear you read when WM shows up

I say read starting from page 78 into Chapter 9. That’s when Spade is dancing with the woman at the club and Denise is watching him, gets jealous and runs away. I LUUUURVE those scenes. Mmmmmm, especially Spade dancing with his potential “dinner.” Another scene is the shower scene. HOTTTT!
I think you should read the part where Ian walks out of the boat and Spade knocks him in to the water. I love what Ian says about him being freinds with him.

I wish I would have signed onto this site sooner. I just bought First Drop of Crimson 2 weeks ago and loved it so much that I went to every bookstore in town to get all of the books with Cat! They are just wonderful. I didn’t get to listen to the station since I am late, but if you need to do another reading from First Drop, then I think a great one would be the part where they are about to walk into the Crimson Fountain and then that whole next chapter, depending on the length. Its a great spot to show characters and the world they are in. Thank you so much for these books. I have read one a day since and they are just so good that I have my other friends reading them now too!
