Holiday Favs Giveaways, Prize 1! (books, chocolate, money!)

December 4, 2018 by Jeaniene Frost

ETA: THIS CONTEST ENDED AS OF 12/7/18. But keep checking my blog for new posts because more contests will be announced soon 🙂.

As promised, I’m now starting the first of my Holiday Favs Giveaways! Yes, I know I called it the 12 Days of Christmas Giveaways last week, but then I caught the flu, so everything’s now been shortened to match my new state of sickness. Hey, at first I was going to rename it Frosts 12-Way Favs, and then I read that title out loud. Whoops ;).

Anyway, these giveaways are brought to you by SHADES OF WICKED, my latest release. So, before we get to them, let’s thank our sponsors, Ian and Veritas, shall we? Who are they? new visitors might be wondering? Let me introduce you!

The Rule Breaker

Master vampire Ian is unrepentant, shameless…and every shade of wicked. He’s made one too many enemies in his two centuries of existence, including Dagon, a demon who now lays claim to his soul. Ian’s only chance to escape Dagon is to join forces with a Law Guardian, but he’s never been able to abide by the rules for long.

The Law Maker

Veritas’ normal role is police, judge and jury to reprobates like Ian. But she has her own ax to grind with Dagon, so if she can use Ian as bait…well, all’s fair in law and war. As they scour supernatural hotspots to perfect their trap, Veritas soon realizes Ian’s devil-may-care, roguish image hides something much more powerful. And Ian discovers that Veritas has shocking secrets of her own. As they’re drawn to each other with a passion as intense as their peril, either love or justice will prevail. But each will have devastating consequences… Order: Amazon, B&N, IndieBound, Apple Books, BooksAMillion, Kobo or Malaprops.

Okay, shameless promo plug out of the way, let’s get right to PRIZE 1 of the Holiday Favs giveaways! First up are books, books, books! THREE WINNERS will get to choose from ONE of the books below, which contains ALL the novels in my Night Huntress, Night Huntress World, Night Prince and new Night Rebel series, with an added extended novella from The Bite Before Christmas anthology because it’s an important Cat and Bones story that I really should have just made into a complete book, but didn’t. I even arranged the books in my Author Recommended Reading Order because not even the flu can limit my ocd, ha! Anyway, here are the pretties. The three winners can choose to have them in either paperback or ebook. This part of the contest is open to US and international readers, although due to ebook restrictions, any international winners are limited to receiving their prize in paperback only.

But I don’t only want books! some of you might be saying. I hear you! How about some chocolate, too? ONE LUCKY WINNER will also get a box of Godiva chocolate PLUS any book from my collection featured above, in either paperback or ebook, winner’s choice. This part of the contest is limited to US readers only.

But wait, there’s more! What goes better with books than chocolate, you wonder? Books, chocolate, AND MONEY! 🙂 ONE LUCKY WINNER will get any book from my collection above, PLUS a box of Godiva chocolate, PLUS a $25 Amazon egift card! This part of the contest is open to US readers only.

THE RULES:

If you want your chance to be one of the five total winners, then tell me your favorite holiday-themed movie. For example, mine would be a tie between It’s A Wonderful Life and National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation. I like the uplifting, timeless truths of It’s A Wonderful Life, but let’s face it, my actual holidays more closely resemble the mayhem of Christmas Vacation ;). This category is open to all holidays, of course. Or, if you don’t have an official holiday-themed favorite movie, holiday-adjacent is fine, too. If I were picking for that category, mine would be The Family Man, where the holidays are barely mentioned because it’s mostly a fish-out-of-water story combined with a meant-to-be love story, all wrapped up with a tinge of supernatural intervention. Hey, you can rock the holiday horror category, too. Gremlins was an all-time favorite of mine, and Santa’s Slay still makes me laugh out loud.

I mentioned a bunch of examples, but you only have to tell me one of your favorites to be eligible to enter.  Reply in the comments on my website blog ONLY so I have them all together in one place. Winners will be randomly selected. Not sure if you’re at my website blog? Here is the link: https://jeanienefrost.com/2018/12/holiday-favs-giveaways-prize-1/

Contest opens NOW and ends Friday, December 7th at 9am Eastern time. Please only enter once per person. Thanks and good luck!

    Hi Jeaniene,
If you ask a person from Russia, 99 percent will give you the same answer – ‘The Irony of Fate’. It came out in 1976. Since then it is impossible to image a New Year celebration without watching this movie. Here is a Wiki page in English: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Irony_of_Fate. There are links to YouTube videos with English subtitles, but they are overlaid over Russian subtitles and are difficult to follow. Instead use these:
    https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x1urcgk
    https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x1urxwy
There are some mistakes in the subtitles, but most of them are minor.
It is on Amazon prime too:
    https://www.amazon.com/Irony-Fate-Enjoy-Your-Bath/dp/B06X9YFS9Y/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1544040610&sr=8-1&keywords=the+irony+of+fate%2C+or+enjoy+your+bath
    Enjoy!

A Christmas carol staring Alistair Sim. It was always one of my favourites. I just love how light and the absence of light was used to create suspense especially when the ghost of Christmas present appeared as well as Jacob Marley. What made it even more special was that later on in life, I had the pleasure of teaching his granddaughter the novel, A Christmas Carol as our class novel study.

  79. Erica Chambers says

    December 5, 2018 at 5:15 pm

My favorite has always been”A Christmas Story”. Other than looking exactly like “Ralphie”as a kid( huge glasses & a spider vein that looked like I. Had shot my eye out) I do yes I do watch it for 24 hrs.
Before that had always been the “Grinch who stole Christmas”. Now Dr. Seuss did influence most of my early yrs. Against my poor mother’s choice, she hated made up words. This movie to me yes I know is going to piss people off. But it’s a true version that we as a society in whole, should go back to. Which is getting back to what means most, the ” ones you love”.
Last but not least holds something near & dear to my ❤️. It was my ultimate favorite movie by my ultimate favorite director. Drove my family nuts to see it , the didn’t understand stand why they hated the movie. Of course it brought my favorite holiday together with my not so favorite.
Tim Burton’s Nightmare before Christmas! Of course you can watch it from Halloween (my favorite) thru Christmas (not favorite but some I ❤️ favorite). When I met my husband we had ALOT; of weird things in common. He was born on my grandfather bday, his middle name is actually the country my family emigrated from ( I’m 2nd generation)& he also had a copy of Nightmare before Christmas.
Is that Fate? Are we meant to be? Well that was 21yrs ago 18yrs of marriage 2 beautiful son’s!
Does that make a beautiful Christmas Story!

We got in so much trouble, just like poor Ralphie. That was about 30 years ago and I still watch it every year laugh my ass off and I still identify with Ralphie.

No matter how old I get I simply cannot get enough of Chuck & the rest of the Peanuts Gang 💖 But if I had to pick a true holiday movie it would have to be “A Christmas Story” – it makes me laugh every.single.time & simply makes me happy 😁 And YES you’re right there is an adolescent theme running through my choices…don’t judge me 😇
    Happy Holidays!!

(My personal faves are probably Stripes and Ghostbusters.) The Ghostbusters movies are good movies to watch during the holidays, too, by the way. Also, they pretty much started me on Tim Burton ever since I was little with my first couple movies we went to the drive-in to see being Batman and Beetlejuice, lol, and so I still enjoy them as well as Nightmare Before Christmas. Miracle on 34th street brings out all the memories of watching is a child with my parents, while Love Actually is the adult Christmas film of choice! Of course if I’m in a silly mood then I like to plump for Arthur Christmas!!!! Not sure that answers the question – in fact I think it just muddles my own thoughts on it!! Basically what I’ve got from this is that I love Christmas films and Christmas in general!!!
