Not for the faint of heart!

July 26, 2024 by Jeaniene Frost Leave a Comment

Just a quick note because my book is ALMOST done, and I want to turn that “almost” into “finished” already! But before I complain more about that, last week, we had a used washing machine installed because our barely-two-year-old Samsung washer kept having issues that made fixing it more expensive than replacing it. And, of course, nothing that needed fixing was still under warranty, because isn’t that how it always goes? (side note: The used Whirlpool washer we installed, which was older than our Samsung, has since been churning through our laundry like a champ, so guess which brand I’ll be buying new in the future?)

Anyway, because of the install plus take-away of our former unit, we had two repairmen in the house. We didn’t bother leashing our little Shiba Inu because–contrary to how he treats bigger dogs–Loki just sits and waits when new people come in the house, expecting that they’ll eventually pet him. Leia, our Husky, will walk right up and demand her pets, so we had her on a leash. I’ll summarize the encounter:

Two big repairmen: *walk in*

Me: *holding Leia by her leash*

Repairmen: *sees her* “Whoa! Is that a WOLF?”

Leia: *gives them happy, toothy smile*

Repairmen: *walk back out*

Me: “No, she’s a Husky! It’s fine!”

Repairmen: *walk back in, give her wide berth”

Me now: *grins* Here is Leia in all her wolfy terror, savagely devouring a helpless, innocent peanut. Warning: Not for the faint of heart! 🙂
