Arcs have landed for Once Burned! For those of you who don’t know what an Arc is, it’s an Advance Reading Copy of the book that still has some corrections and edits left to be done. My Arcs usually contain enough grammar/spelling errors to make me feel doomb and at least three plot/consistency errors to make me feel even doomber (such as  Scene X starting out with four characters in the room and ending with only three. How I didn’t notice this until after the galleys stage is BEYOND me!).

Anyway, since Arcs are in, over the next month or so you’ll see a few contests for them. One is already up on Goodreads, if you haven’t yet entered. The contest I’m holding now is for bloggers and/or reviewers who’ve previously reviewed one of my books. Not sure if that applies to you? Well, if you’ve written a review about any of my titles and posted it at your blog, e-zine, Goodreads, LiveJournal, or other review site, then you qualify (Sorry, a Twitter, Facebook, or other one-line-type comment doesn’t count). It also doesn’t matter if you liked the book or hated it. Due to deadlines and other time commitments, I’ve had to say “Sorry, I can’t!” to a lot of requests for interviews and guest blogs lately and I feel bad about that. This is my way of saying Thank You to everyone who’s taken the time to review one of my books.

Rules: (There’s only one so please read it carefully because your entry won’t count if you don’t follow it.)

Leave a comment on this post (if you’re reading this on Goodreads, it’s THIS post on my website:  https://jeanienefrost.com/2012/03/bloggerreviewer-arc-contest/ ) with your name (or blog name) and a link to a review that you’ve posted on one of my novels. The review has to be dated PRIOR to today’s date and has to be more than a one or two liner like “Loved it!” “Hated it!” or “Could’ve had a V-8!” Not that I don’t appreciate those as well, but because I only have a few Arcs for this contest, I have to narrow the field.

Contest opens now and will end on Friday, April 6th at midnight. International entries are welcome. The 5 winners will be chosen at random and announced Saturday, April 7th. Again, no link to a review posted prior to today’s date means your entry won’t count.

And if you’ve never reviewed one of my titles and thus don’t qualify for this contest, don’t worry. I’ll have other contests giving away more Once Burned Arcs in the near future.

I’m not sure if this counts… I’m right now editing and translating all my reviews, because I was blogging in German last year.. So my most recent Author-Overview post about your books has 20+ comments, whereas the only two still publically viewable reviews have none.. At least not on my blog.     • I finished rneaidg The Last Bookstore In America by Amy Stewart. I learned about this book from Red Adept’s Book Review. Red gave this book an overall rating of 4 stars. The description caught my interest, considering I love to read stories that include books and bookstores (The Book Thief, The Thirteenth Tale, Bookmarked for Death). I found the story was depressing me; not only because all the bookstores were closing as they were being replaced by the Gizmo , but that it seemed most of the characters were depressed for varies reasons. Maybe it was just me. I found I was becoming more interested as the story went on though, and did want to find out how it would all work out .

I have read all the books in this seris and I have no more to read Jeaniene, I am going thru withdraw… I feel consumed by your writing and would mail order a Bones and Mencheres both lol if I could, I love the excitment, the danger and most off all the PASSION between Cat & Bones!! Now a few other characters have loved ones and it is even better Kira, Denise were great addistions to your plots. I need more please book 7 In night huntress I pre order all I can but see no Night Huntress series book due date for release. I advise all ho love Romantic urban fantasy books to pick up this series. Since I have read them, I am now ready to Hunt again once myself!!

I am intrigued with her books so much so that i find them funny as hell as well my ex thought i was loosing my mind when i rolled out of bed laughing so hard (mind you on more than one occasion). i have posted before, i dont recall where and when i work to much to remeber what day of the week it is half the time.

    Game of Thrones is back, did you see it?

    I’m wondering about the new book, “Once Burned”. The cover makes it look like a Romance novel and I find that off putting. You know I love your work and I don’t mind a little romance but I tend to skip over those parts. How does it compare to a Cat and Bones book?

    • Hey Vampy! I did see Game of Thrones last night. Very intense! I might love Tyrion (spelling?) the best out of the characters, possibly because one of the important side character in Once Burned is a tough dwarf.

      Speaking of OB, the cover is very romance-y, yes. My publisher wanted it to be clear that this wasn’t another Cat and Bones book (where only a woman appears on the cover) or another Night Huntress World novel (which has couples on the cover) so they went with Guy Only on the cover and then took his shirt off, heh. As far as action-to-romance ratio, I’d compare it to Halfway to the Grave. About two weeks before release, the first 20% should be available to read online for free, so that may be a better way for you to determine if OB would be something you’re into.

      And I hope to be around your area in the future! Publisher is setting up cities for a OB tour right now, but I don’t know them yet. Fingers crossed :).

The book comes out on my birthday so I would love a signed copy but I guess I need to be more of a review writer I usually don’t because I rarely listen to anyone else’s opinions when it comes to books so I don’t give mines but it can’t hurt to say how great your writing is also I’m an audible user and I love how good Tavia is I almost buy stuff I’m not even into just to hear her read to me but I know it won’t be the same as her reading a Jeaniene Frost book

    I’ve enjoyed your books from the very first chapter in the first book (which started it all for me), and have continued to attempt to wait patiently for the next in line as they come out. I look forward to “Once Burned,” and even if I don’t win I’ll still be one of the first to have it read within a day lol once it is released. For some reason I can’t help but knowing what happens, then feel the ache of having to wait all over again for the next one lol. Sweet torture lol.
