Playlist and release day for THE OTHER HALF OF THE GRAVE!

April 26, 2022 by Jeaniene Frost 19 Comments

THE OTHER HALF OF THE GRAVE, Bones’ side of the story, is finally here! This book has been a long time coming, and I can’t thank you enough, readers, for taking this journey with me. I hope you love seeing the beginning of Cat and Bones’ story through Bones’ eyes!

Ever wondered what Bones was thinking and feeling when he and half vampire Cat Crawfield first met? Or how their story might differ if he were the one telling it? Now, relive the beginning of Cat and Bones’ bestselling love story through Bones’ point of view, which reveals a darker, sexier take on their early days, as well as a deeper dive into Bones’ past, the vampire world, and other things that Cat didn’t see when their story was told only through her eyes in Halfway to the Grave.

Cat had her say. It’s Bones’ turn.

“I love this new look at a much-loved story and I might even love Bones a bit more than I did before reading this.”–Carole’s Random Life

“As a longtime fan of the Cat and Bones series, The Other Half of the Grave adds more to the love story that is Cat and Bones. It made me want to re-read the entire series again.”–Red Hot & Blue Reads

“Even if you’ve never read any of the other books in Frost’s sexy, action-packed series (think Buffy the Vampire Slayer for Anne Rice fans), this darker, even sexier reboot is a perfect starting point.”–Apple Books. Voted one the “Best Books of April” on Apple

Now, to the playlist. As many of you know, listening to the same set of songs while I write keeps me focused on that particular story. So, here’s what I listened to while writing THE OTHER HALF OF THE GRAVE. These songs are all over the place when it comes to age and type, but that shouldn’t be a surprise. Bones is nothing if not versatile, and apparently, I was channeling some of that versatility when I picked the playlist.

Usual disclaimer: Music tastes are as personal as reading tastes, so if you don’t like the bands/songs, no problem! Just please don’t tell me that I shouldn’t like them. The layout is alphabetic starting with the artists’ first name, and then the song name, but I didn’t listen in alphabetical order because I am not that organized. My listening order depended on my mood and the scene type.

Adam Lambert: Whataya Want From Me

Sooo happy! It’s finally here! Too bad that Amazon is making me wait a whole day before delivering it. Oh well. Love these books!

This is my favorite series of all time. I have no words for how much I love these characters and their story. I reread this series AT LEAST once or twice a year. I was so excited to see Bones POV! I really really really hope this is something we keep up for the rest of the series. There are so many scenes I’ve wanted to see him his POV!!

To quote a phrase from the movie ‘Hacksaw Ridge’- “Please Lord let me get one more”- Desmond Doss. Just like the first book, ‘Other Half of The Grave’ is to good not to beg for another. 🙏

I bought it as soon as I could today and finished it 🙈 I looooooved it! I loved Bones already but I fell in love with him all over again. I loved that I could now see what he was feeling and thinking. And gives me a glimpse into his thoughts and feelings for the rest of the series.

    ** spoiler alert for DFAEG***

I always wanted to know how he felt when he said all those things to Cat in DFAEG and left her. And this book gave me an insight on what he was probably thinking and feeling. And having to see Cat break down in front of him and having to do what he needed to do even though it hurt him 😩

Whenever an author tried to write the POV of the male hero, I was deeply disappointed by the book & the story. But OMG Jeaniene, you did such an amazing job- I can only say THANK YOU SO MUCH for that lovely book and the insights we got about Bones. It was so heartbreaking to make the journey from Bones perspective, how hard it was to actually be in love. Oh wow. I’m just stunned, because I’ve never expected such a fantastic book, when reading the males’ perspective. And you are sooo teasing! You gave us a glimpse of the reunion- a bittersweet glimpse and now I’m sitting here like an addict and am waiting for the next book of Bones. (Sorry, I know so many out there love Vlad & Ian as well- but come on, it’s BONES 😉
    >Please Bones shout to Jeaniene, I really need to know about the rest of the story…

Thank you so much for giving us this wonderful gift! I absolutely loved the book and the audio ( yes I had to do both lol! ). The only downside is I finished the book and have to anxiously wait for your next release.

Your Night Huntress world is my favorite locale! I’m a voracious reader and have gone through the entire series multiple times. As much as I look forward to some more Vlad, I hope you’ll continue at least One Foot in the Grave from Bones’ POV. I loved The Other Half of the Grave (I was switching between Audible and Kindle—loved the narrator, too)! Thank you for an awesome world—it’s my favorite escape.

I’ve read this book and listened to the audiobook multiple times already. Then got out my copy of Halfway to read each scene from both POVs. Im going to echo everyone else and say, please please write the rest of the series from Bones pov. The epilogue gave me hope that might happen anyway.

    Love your work so much!!
